The Short Version

The Odds Gap is free and the whole board works without an account. We never collect your name or your payment details, and we never take a bet. We do collect an email address in one case: if you choose to sign up for The Odds Gap Daily or for the Live Beta, we store the address you type in and use it to send you the thing you signed up for. Nothing else on the site asks for it, and you can unsubscribe or have the address deleted at any time. We use standard analytics cookies to understand traffic, and we earn commissions when you sign up at some of the betting venues we link to. Those commissions never affect the prices we display or which book the data ranks first.

What We Collect

• Your email address, only if you hand it to us. Two optional signups ask for one, and both are opt-in:
  • The Odds Gap Daily, the morning email. We store your address, the date you signed up, and the sports you ticked, so the email can be filtered to them. Signing up sends one email, "Confirm your Odds Gap Daily", with a link that works once and lasts 7 days; you are not subscribed until you open it and tap Confirm, and an address that is never confirmed is deleted after 7 days. The Daily is sent only to people who ask for it: from its own signup, or by ticking "Also send me The Odds Gap Daily" when signing in to the Live Beta. That box is unticked unless you tick it, and when you do, the sign-in code or link confirms the Daily too, so no second confirm email is sent and nothing starts until the code or link works. Confirming records the IP address and browser user agent of that one request, which is how we tell a real signup from a bot. It also sets a signed cookie named og_daily on that browser, so the Settings page and the app's profile can show that you are subscribed and let you unsubscribe with one tap. That cookie contains your email address in encoded form and is readable only by our server.
  • The Live Beta, which unlocks the one-minute board and browser alerts. To sign in we email you a 6-digit code (it lasts 15 minutes) and a link (it works once and lasts 30 minutes); we keep only a scrambled form of each, never the code or link itself. Once you enter the code or tap Sign In, we store your address and the date you joined, and we set a signed cookie named og_live on your browser so the live board recognizes you on your next visit. That cookie contains your email address in encoded form and is readable only by our server.
  Both lists are stored on our hosting and in an off-site backup so a redeploy cannot lose them. We use your address to send you what you asked for and for nothing else. We do not sell it, rent it, advertise against it, or hand it to a sportsbook, an exchange, or an affiliate partner. Sending the email requires a third-party email delivery provider, which processes your address to deliver the message. Every email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link. The Live Beta address is kept so your live access can be restored and so we can reach you about the beta itself, and today that list is otherwise used only to count how many people have joined. You can leave either list at any time from the Settings page (Unsubscribe for the Daily, the Live prices switch for the Live Beta), or by writing to [email protected].
• Push alert subscriptions. If you turn on browser alerts, your browser gives us a push endpoint URL and two keys that let us send a notification to that browser. We store those with the alert thresholds and books you chose. They identify a browser, not a person, and turning alerts off deletes them.
• iPhone app alerts. If you turn on alerts in the iOS app, Apple gives the app a push device token, and we store it with the alert thresholds and books you chose. We use it only to deliver those alerts. It identifies a copy of the app on a phone, not a person, and we delete it when you turn alerts off or when Apple tells us the token no longer works.
• Android app alerts. If you turn on alerts in the Android app, Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging gives the app a push device token, and we store it with the alert thresholds and books you chose. We use it only to deliver those alerts. It identifies a copy of the app on a phone, not a person, and we delete it when you turn alerts off or when Google tells us the token no longer works.
• TOG Bot questions. When you ask TOG Bot something, we process the question to answer it. The question is not tied to your name, email, or account. We keep the text for up to 30 days so we can see which questions it could not answer, next to a scrambled code made from your network address that only lets us cap how many questions one connection sends and cannot be turned back into the address. If a question is passed to an AI model to help answer it, nothing that identifies you goes with it.
• AI assistant connector (MCP). When an AI assistant such as Claude calls our connector, the call needs no personal data and we never see your conversation, only the call itself. We log which tool was used, the question when the assistant asks one in plain words, the answer, and the client name the assistant sends, next to a scrambled code made from the calling network address that only lets us count the free daily allowance and cannot be turned back into the address. Hosted assistants call from their own servers, so for them that address is the assistant's, not yours. Question and answer text are deleted after 30 days; the counts without them are kept for usage totals. Nothing from a connector call is shared with a sportsbook, an exchange, or an affiliate partner.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to measure visits, pages viewed, and general usage patterns. GA4 sets cookies and collects device and approximate location data per Google's privacy policy. We see aggregated reports, not your identity.
• Session recordings (website only). On the website we use Microsoft Clarity to see where pages are hard to use: where people tap something that does nothing, tap in frustration, or give up. It records how a visit moves (scrolls, taps, which page) and builds heatmaps, so we can fix what gets in the way. Everything you type in a box is hidden before anything is recorded, and so is every place the page shows it back to you (your TOG Bot questions, the bets in your Bet Tracker). It never runs in our iPhone or Android app, and the analytics switch below turns it off along with Google Analytics. Clarity sets its own cookies and handles data per Microsoft's privacy statement.
• Watchlists and preferences. Saved games, odds-format and state-filter choices are stored in your browser's local storage on your device. They never leave your browser and we cannot see them.
• Server logs. Our hosting provider (Railway) keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and debugging, retained briefly.

We do not sell personal information, run third-party ad networks, or build advertising profiles.

Cookies

There are four kinds of cookie here. The first is Google Analytics, which you can block with your browser settings or an extension like a content blocker; the site works fully without it. The second is og_live, set only if you join the Live Beta. It holds your email address in encoded form, signed so it cannot be forged, and its only job is to tell our server that your browser is entitled to the live board. The third is og_daily, set only when you confirm the Daily from its email or sign in to the Live Beta with its Daily box ticked. It is signed the same way and its only job is to let you see and change your Daily subscription on this device; it does not unlock the live board. Both of these are now set only after you prove the address is yours, with the emailed code or link, and are marked as such (version 2); one set before October 2026 keeps working as before. A version 2 og_live or og_daily also lets Settings show your data subscription, if that address has one. The fourth is og_data, set only on the website and only if you open the data page with your data key or paste that key into Settings. It holds the email your key belongs to, never the key, signed the same way, and its only job is to let Settings show when your data subscription renews or ends and link you to Stripe to manage it; Hide on This Device removes it. None of them is used for advertising or tracking, and clearing your cookies removes them.

You can also switch analytics off just for this browser. The setting is stored on your device, so it holds on any network, including mobile data, and it applies to the installed app as well when you set it from inside the app.

Outbound Links

When you leave for a sportsbook, exchange, or any third-party site, that site's own privacy policy and terms govern. Affiliate partners may use their own cookies to attribute your sign-up to us; that tracking happens on their domain, not ours.

Quoting Our Figures

Quoting any figure or finding published on this site is welcome, with attribution to The Odds Gap and a link to the page it came from. Our measurements, the matched-lines comparisons, the staleness and dispersion studies and the captured opening lines, are our own work and are licensed on that basis. The underlying odds are facts we aggregate from sources with their own terms. Bulk or automated reuse of the underlying data, rather than quoting a published figure, needs a conversation first: [email protected].

Age and Responsible Gambling

This site is intended for adults of legal betting age in their jurisdiction (21+ in most US states; some venues permit 18+ or 19+). The Odds Gap displays odds data and never accepts or places wagers. If gambling stops being fun, call or text 1-800-GAMBLER.
